If you’re a new trucker, displaying your USDOT number outside of your commercial vehicle is one of the most important things to do and it’s sometimes overlooked. Displaying your USDOT number correctly can help you expedite process when you are going through the truck scales or when you’re stopped by DOT authorities.
A few things to keep in mind when ordering your USDOT numbers,
Your USDOT number must be visible from a distance of at least 50 feet away, it must be on both sides of your commercial vehicle, preferably on the truck door. The color of your us dot number must contrast with the color of your vehicle and you must use an easy to read font.
Also, we recommend displaying your us dot number larger if you are using a larger truck such as a semi-truck.
